After initial discussions with Hill International in 2011, the use of the Ostara System at the new Saudi Arabian Embassy buildings in Cairo, Egypt commenced in 2012. Hill International are an international construction firm, providing project management and construction consultancy on major projects such as the One World Trade Center and Wembley Stadium.
Hill International are very strong in the construction industry, but did not have a CAFM system to use for ongoing maintenance requirements post-construction, therefore engaged with Ostara to provide such a system.
Then in 2013, Hill International opened a new office building in the Cairo New Financial sector, and added this property to their portfolio in the system.
With both projects being new builds, it was a prime opportunity to fully populate the Ostara system with a complete asset database, providing full planned maintenance works with an accurate and complete asset database. Hill International asked Ostara to use their expertise to provide asset tagging services and therefore Ostara sent personnel, equipped with iPads and the Ostara Mobile application, to populate the database with asset details and photographs.
Some of the more challenging development requirements requested of Ostara involved the ability to create individual PPM Work Orders per asset, and the development of reports in Arabic.
